Twilight to Daylight

The sun has set
And twilight arrives.
Thank you, Jesus,
That I’m well and alive.

Then darkness falls.
The end of the day.
Parents done working
And children with play.

All ready to sleep
With prayers to be said.
Before we all settle
Into our beds.

Our eyes closed tight.
Ready for dreams
Guardian angels keep watch
It seems.

Before we know it
The sun’s shining bright.
To start a new day.
Thank you, Jesus, for a restful night.
